The role of job stability in enhancing the self-efficacy of employees: An exploratory analytical study on a sample of employees in the directorates of education in the Sultanate of Oman

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the role of job stability in enhancing the self-efficacy of employees in the directorates of education in the Sultanate of Oman. To achieve its objectives, the study used the descriptive correlational approach. A questionnaire was developed as a tool for data collection. It consisted of 52 statements divided into three main rubrics, including demographic data, job stability and self-efficacy. The questionnaire was distributed to 550 employees to ensure validity and reliability. The findings revealed that the level of job stability and the employees’ self-efficacy at the Omani Directorates of Education were high. In addition, the findings showed a statistically significant positive correlation between the dimensions of job stability and the dimensions of the self-efficacy of the study sample. Based on the findings, several recommendations were made, such as the necessity of giving utmost importance to and caring more about teachers’ incentive and reward system to raise their efficacy.
