Abstract

This research is concerned with the role of electronic media in promoting Emirati heritage, and it proceeded from the following question: what is the impact of electronic media on heritage promotion in the United Arab Emirates? To answer this question, the author adopted the descriptive and analytical approach, based on scientific information published in references, books and periodicals, in addition to analyzing the content of media materials aimed at promoting heritage through electronic media. Among the most important findings of the study is that: the United Arab Emirates has elements of heritage, accrued through successive civilizations and their heritage landmarks, which have ultimately defined its national identity and its authentic Arab customs and traditions. This heritage combines originality, diversity, and history that was shaped by two elements, namely the land and the sea, a heritage that should be promoted. In fact, promoting heritage will increase economic resources and help protect civilization and shape the future of the nation. The study also found that the UAE succeeded in strengthening its international position in the field of digital media through its new and innovative strategy. One of the electronic media outlets that promote heritage is the Emirates Heritage Club.
